End of 2019 the EU agreed upon a regulation on the establishment of a framework to facilitate sustainable investment commonly called the EU taxonomy regulation (2020/852). EU Taxonomy is a new instrument, expected to play an important role in helping the EU scale up sustainable investment and implement the European green deal.
Companies in the scope of the EU taxonomy need to disclose information on what % of their CapEx, OpEx and TurnOver are ‘eligible’ already this year 2022. Those companies with eligible activities will need to disclose in 2023 their % of CapEx, OpEx and TurnOver that are aligned with the EU taxonomy.
You want to learn what taxonomy means for your company? How to implement it? What effects it might have on your business?
essenscia warmly encourages you to get acquainted with what this regulation is about and how it could affect (future) investments. When the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive will enter into force, even more companies will fall under the EU taxonomy disclosure obligations. So, start your preparation now!
Save the date of 4th of October afternoon for an informative session on EU taxonomy tailored to the chemical, life sciences and plastics industry.
We propose the training as a hybrid session in English meaning that you can follow both physically and online. To increase interactions and networking, we recommend that you would participate physically in the Bluepoint Brussels building. Seats in the room (max. 40 people) will be assigned on first come, first serve basis.
The target audience for the workshop is broad, ranging from environmental, sustainable, social, legal, marketing, financial profiles within your companies as use and implications of EU Taxonomy is potentially broad.
Detailed program will be communicated in September. You can expect :
- a first part about understanding the EU Sustainable Finance Taxonomy with a policy overview by essenscia, a keynote by a CEFIC expert, and the views of the financial institutions on taxonomy by FEBELFIN.
- and a second part about implementing the EU Sustainable Finance Taxonomy with a demonstration of the Greenomy tool, Q&A’s on implementation challenges, and company testimonials for exchanging best practices amongst participants.
