In the framework of the Belgian recovery and resilience fund, and thus NextGenEU, a new call for projects on the substitution of hazardous substances was launched on 18 October.
This is a broad call for projects that contribute to the integration of the currently known principles on Safe and Sustainable by Design and to the reduction of the “most harmful substances” or “substances of concern”. There is a focus on 3 categories of products (PFAS, endocrine disruptors and a list of 12 priority substances), but also projects on other substances are eligible.
Different types of projects are eligible: fundamental and applied research, development of new processes, development of new products, innovative business models or generic instruments. Also, the target group is broad: companies, start-ups, research institutes, consultants and NGO’s. Financial support can range from 50.000€ to 2.000.000 € per partner. The deadline for submission is 31 December.
The presentation of the launch event of 13 October can be downloaded here. FR version / NL Version.
