VLARIPusers

The VLARIPusers project supports and guides downstream users to meet their REACH and CLP obligations. This 2-year project started on 1 December 2008 and is supported by EFRO and the Flemish government.

Our activities:

1. Monthly meetings

During these monthly meetings with all participants an update of the actuality is given in relation to REACH, CLP and other chemistry related legislation. Questions of participants are being answered and monthly one specific topic is explained in detail.

Feedback from the evaluation of participants:

"Convenient to have a resume of all information"

"Good to hear how other are handling this"

"Interesting to receive standard documents and examples"

"Self assessment tool and CLP manual are very useful documents"

"REACH doesn't get out of sight thanks to the monthly meetings"

"Every meeting there are new aspects or a new angel of which we hadn't thought before"

2. Discussionforum VLARIP on Linkedln

A discussionforum only accessible for VLARIP participants was started through Linkedln. Participants from all groups can ask each other questions and exchange experiences even more efficiently.

3. Theme sheets REACH

Through the extranet all VLARIP participants get access to the REACH theme sheets. They explain the complex REACH legislation in an understandable manner and per topic the points and open points are handled.

Feedback from the participants:

"Handy to have a quick way to look up information on a certain aspect of REACH"

4. Yearly events

Together with all VLARIP projects a yearly event is organised where we look back on the past year and where discussionfora are set up. This way all downstream users get the opportunity to get in contact with their suppliers.

5. Organisation of seminars with downstream user federations like Cremoda, Fedis, Fevia...

One of the main targets of this project is to sensitise as many downstream users to REACH and it's obligations. Next to the regular workgroups assemblies, seminars were also coordinated ad hoc together with other federations to inform their members about their obligations.

6. Organisation of trainings

In the framework of sensitising downstream users a partnership was formed with VOKA, ACTA, Cresept etc... to organise a training around CLP and the consequences to users of chemical substances and mixtures. Also in cooperation with the university Ghent a training cycle CLP was set up for experts whom their selves have to catogorize substances and mixtures.
