essenscia brussels, the regional section of essenscia for the Brussels-Capital Region, represents and defends the interest of its members in all regional matters provided these relate to the Brussels-Capital Region. essenscia brussels includes over 160 companies. These are companies affiliated to essenscia that have at least one operating base in the Brussels-Capital Region. A total of over 5,000 people are employed. The chemicals industry in the Region consists mainly – more so than in the other regions – of head offices, coordination centres, sales outlets, and research and analysis laboratories. Nevertheless, there are also around about thirty production plants established in the Region, mainly in the pharmaceutical sector.
