Sustech (Sustainable Technology)
|
Sustech is a programme whose aim is to contribute to the development of sustainable technologies, while encouraging appropriate international cooperation on R&D. Businesses and research laboratories as well as universities are involved in this programme. This programme currently covers twelve areas including waste reduction, biotechnology, hydrogen-based energy techniques, security management, separation techniques, and solid particle technology. The accent is therefore placed on expensive, high risk, non-competitive R&D areas that can prove themselves very useful to sustainable development, but could yield few results if not handled in a consistent, coherent way.
