REACH (Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals)

The challenge of REACH, the European regulation on chemicals, is to protect human health and the environment while guaranteeing the preservation of our industry. This is a delicate balancing act between the three pillars of the sustainable development, all the more difficult one since not all countries outside Europe are evolving to the same speed as we are.

With the Federal Public Service Economy, essenscia has developed a helpdesk aimed at assisting businesses to respond to the new requirements put forth by REACH. Essenscia also developed, with the Federation of the Belgium businesses (feb-vbo), a practical guide for all producers, users, buyers and/or importers of chemicals explaining in concrete terms the implications of the European regulation approved at the end of December 2006 and entered into force June 2007.
